Parishioners offer their services to prepare and host a post-funeral dinner for family members and friends who have just attended the funeral Mass of their loved ones. This parish ministry is very much appreciated by the mourning families. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated to prepare and / or serve a bereavement dinner.

Dubois County Community Meal (DCCM) is an ecumenical based ministry in south western Indiana. Our mission is to reach out to those in need and provide a meal in a faith filled setting. WE are 100% volunteer and rely on donations to feed the hungry.

There are three groups of Precious Blood Parish volunteers that donate their time to the Dubois County Community Meals Program on the third Monday of each month.  The three groups rotate throughout the year.  They help set up the dining room 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm and serve 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

Parishioners of all ages are welcome to join the Precious Blood Volunteer group. One question that is always asked is, “Do I have to cook?” The answer is “No.” There is no cooking involved.

In December, parishioners donate gifts for needy children from the surrounding area.  All parishioners are welcome to pick a card from the tree & donate those specific items to the Holiday Shoppe, which helps local families provide Christmas gifts to their children.

This committee volunteers to go all area nursing homes & Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center on Sundays to pray with residents and be ministers of the Eucharist. Eucharistic Minister training is provided.

Please call the parish office if interested in becoming a trained volunteer for this ministry.

Prayer requests are first brought to the parish office and then forward to the Prayer Chain Leader. The Prayer Group Leader accepts the prayer request and forwards the request to parishioners so they can add your prayers to their daily prayer list.

The St. Vincent DePaul Society is an international Catholic organization of lay persons, who in the spirit of justice and charity, are dedicated to help the poor, suffering and persons in need.

Currently, Precious Blood Parish does not have a St. Vincent De Paul society.  Please contact other local churches if you are needing help.

All interested parishioners are welcome to join as active or inactive members to support this important committee.
