I want to say a big ‘thank you’ for everyone who volunteered in so many ways for the Parish Picnic. This was my first parish picnic and I didn’t know what to expect. I was blown away by the many volunteers, great food, and excitement. Thank you! This year had some uncertainty about it. Were people going to come? What was the weather going to be? We had a great crowd, and we had great weather. It was a huge success. We will have the financial information for the picnic in the bulletin, so that everyone in the parish can see how we did.
As we look to next year, we are always looking for more disciples to step up and build on this great tradition. Maybe God is calling you to help for next year. Having a parish picnic isn’t just about the money. It is about a parish living as a spiritual family. We are all sons and daughters of God. For a mysterious reason God has created us at this moment, and in his providence, has brought us together within this parish. In the span of time, our paths have crossed. God then creates that spiritual family within a parish. Having a parish picnic is part of that Living Faith.
