The Social Concerns Committee consists of parishioners who perform a variety of ministries. This committee coordinates several activities in which all adults are encouraged to participate.

An annual dinner and entertainment party is held during the year for all parishioners who are 75 and older.

In December, parishioners donate gifts for needy children from the surrounding area. All parishioners are welcome to pick a name from the Giving Tree and purchase a gift.

The purpose of this committee is to welcome new parishioners to the Precious Blood community. All newcomers are visited and welcomed. During visits the committee members answer any questions regarding the community and give them information about the parish. Committee members also deliver a dessert prepared by women of our parish.

The parish has a group of volunteers that accepts prayer requests and then relays these requests to enlist the prayers and support of many parishioners.

This committee volunteers to go the The Timbers in Jasper on Sundays to pray with residents and be ministers of the Eucharist. Eucharistic Minister training is provided.

Settling in after bringing home a newborn is always a challenge. This group tries to help in this transition by bringing several meals to the families with newborn children or to a parishioner on bed rest.

Precious Blood Church is a part of the Crisis Connection Church Sanctuary Project. We provide support to Crisis Connection (a local volunteer-based program that serves victims of domestic and sexual violence) both financially and personally, with Stephanie Armstrong as our trained volunteer liaison.

Parishioners offer their services to prepare and host a post-funeral dinner for family members and friends who have just celebrated the funeral liturgy of their loved ones. This parish ministry is very much appreciated by the mourning families. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated to prepare and / or serve a bereavement dinner.

The St. Vincent DePaul Society is an international Catholic organization of lay persons, who in the spirit of justice and charity, are dedicated to help the poor, suffering and persons in need.

The Precious Blood Conference has several active members who meet monthly and provide a variety of service and help that is appropriate in the local area. Also there is a group of inactive support members who are invited to attend quarterly Mass and breakfasts at various parishes in the area.

All interested parishioners are welcome to join as active or inactive members to support this important activity.

This Committee oversees and determines the amount of parish contributions to be donated to local, national and international charitable organizations.
